From Gauhar Shaikh to Gauri Sandeep Kavade — A Journey of Courage and Comeback
At just 17, Gauhar Shaikh began her journey in the salon industry.
Today, known as Gauri Sandeep Kavade, she owns a successful salon and academy in Mumbai’s Marine Lines and has over 22 years of experience as a skin & hair specialist and fitness trainer.
Her life took a tough turn after marriage — what began as a happy life ended in a mutual divorce in 2020, caused by her husband’s extra-marital affair.
Gauri walked away with self-respect, not alimony, and restarted her career from zero — during the difficult COVID period.
From surviving on biscuits and water to rebuilding her name in the beauty industry, her journey is nothing short of inspiring.
Today, she also runs two NGOs that empower women — especially single mothers — to become financially independent and self-reliant.
“I’ve seen my darkest days. I don’t want any woman to depend on anyone. Strength is the only way forward,” says Gauri proudly.
